A specific way of asking questions in Albanian
Question words in Albanian: What’s the deal with “Çfarë po bën?”
There are different forms of asking questions in Albanian language.
We can ask questions by using the particle “nuk”
Example: Nuk do vish ti? Aren’t you coming?
We can ask questions through question tags:
Example: Ti do të vish, apo jo? ( You will come, right?)
A specific which can be noted in various forms of interrogation is the missing of the pronoun, which is usually understood by the ending of the verb/verb conjugation.
Question words:
Example: Çfarë po bën? What are you doing?
In this case the verb “bën” is used in the second person singular, and it notifies for whom the question is asked.
Interrogative Form in Future Tense:
A do të mësojmë? Will we learn?
In this case the verb “mësojmë” is used in the first person plural, and it notifies for whom the question is asked.
This phenomenon occurs quite often in Albanian. Therefore, it is very important to learn the suffixes, as they are always the same, unless there is an irregular verb there.
